JUNE KELLY GALLERY Inc.
The June Kelly Gallery was
founded in 1987 in the historic SoHo district of New York City.
The gallery specializes in contemporary
paintings, drawings, sculpture and photography and represents work by a
diverse group of emerging, mid-career and established artists, many of
whom have achieved international recognition and acclaim.
Exhibitions by gallery artists
have received numerous reviews in leading publications that cover the
art world, including ARTnews, Art in America, The New York Times and
Sculpture Magazine. The artists
themselves have also been profiled in those publications, and the
gallery was featured in a cover story in Art + Auction magazine.
The gallery also specializes
in assisting corporations, other entities and individuals in building
collections and helping them to find artwork that best represents their
own aesthetic concepts. The gallery is
able to reach out to a variety of sources to find museum-quality work by
contemporary artists, as well as masters from an earlier era.
The gallery also publishes artist catalogues that are
placed in museum libraries as well as institutions of higher learning.
In 1996, the gallery was
elected to membership in the prestigious Art Dealers Association of
America. June Kelly, the gallery
director, is a member of the Board of Trustees of both Pratt Institute
and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, and is also a member of
ArtTable, Inc., and Women’s Forum, Inc.
For the last decade the
gallery has exhibited at the ADAA Art Fair, New York, Art Chicago
International Art Fair and ArtHamptons, Bridgehampton, New York
Before opening the gallery,
June Kelly managed the career of artist Romare Bearden for 13 years
until his death in 1988. During this
period Ms. Kelly was involved with exhibitions in the United States and
in Europe, arranging touring exhibitions and negotiating public art
commissions.
